The Arrernte people of the Mparntwe, Irlpme and Antulye estate groups are the traditional owners of land in and around Alice Springs since the Altyerre (dreaming).

LAAC is a registered Aboriginal Corporation and is registered with the Office Registrar Aboriginal Corporations and has legal obligations under the CATSI Act 2006.

As a Register Native Title Bodies Corporate, LAAC also has legal obligations under the Native Title Act and the PBC Regulations.
